Cat Friendly Animal Hospital in Canton, MI

A Cat Friendly Animal Hospital in Canton, MI

Cats, with their unique personalities and specific needs, make wonderful pets, but they often miss out on important medical care. To better accommodate our feline patients and encourage future vet visits, our animal hospital in Canton is Certified Cat Friendly by the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

The Cat Friendly Practice® program helps to guide animal hospitals in making veterinary visits less stressful for cats and educating staff to better understand their needs. Cats do not see their veterinarians nearly as often as dogs do, but they also need routine wellness exams, fecal tests and more to stay healthy.

Gold Level Certification

As a Gold Level Certified Cat Friendly Practice, Arbor Pointe Veterinary Hospital successfully meets or exceeds all Cat Friendly requirements. This means that our team members have become more knowledgeable in treating cats and understanding their needs. Additionally, we take several other significant steps to ensure a feline-friendly environment, including:

  • Having designated exam rooms for cats only
  • Using feline pheromone diffusers in our exam rooms and spraying pheromones on clothes and towels
  • Arranging cat appointments so they can be brought into an exam room right away
  • All of our staff members are trained in appropriate cat handling techniques and recognizing signs of illness or pain in cats
